branches and debris are being swept along with the current. There is
no way that the elves would do such a thing to this wonderful place.

Trees are cut down just because they are there. Grass is trampled into
nothing, piles of trees are burning all around, and a vile stench of
evil pervades. All around you, orcs bustle, for this is one of the
biggest projects Sauron has ever undertaken.

You have come upon a large clearing. Several broken or partly
burnt machines of siege dot the area, providing somewhere to sit
for a host of drunken orcs. A troll that has turned to stone seems
to be rather entertaining to the orcs, who laugh and throw empty
bottles at it. One very large orc is not drunk, and he carefully
guards a large catapult which looks to be in working order.

wafting in from the west. Smoke fills the air to the northwest,
and two large tents are on either side of the path deeper into
the camp.

reaching your ears. The ground is a muddy mess, with dozens
of orc footprints and bits of garbage deeply embedded in the
soggy mud. To the west you can make out an eating area and
a small wooden structure. You can see smoke drifting up into
the air to the northwest.
